No.1 Heavy Scrap Copper shall consist of clean unalloyed copper solids and must be uncoated. |
No.2 Scrap Copper consists of clean unalloyed copper solids. May include clean, oxidized or coated (plated) copper clippings, punchings, bus bars, commutator segments, clean oxidized copper pipe or tubing free of excessive solder and light gauge clean, oxidized or coated (plated) copper wire but free of fine gauge hair wire. Should be free of excessive oxidation, scale, ash or brittle burnt wire. |
Soldered Copper Pipe Scrap shall consist of assorted copper pipe (of any length) with soldered joints or ends, free of brass or bronze or non-copper fittings. |
Beryllium Copper Scrap shall consist of clean beryllium alloyed copper solids, may contain clippings, punchings, bar or pipe, tubing & elbows. |
Light Scrap Copper Shall consist of miscellaneous, unalloyed copper solids. |
Copper Turnings shall consist of unalloyed copper turnings, grindings or borings, may be contaminated with cutting oils. |
No.1 Bare Bright Copper Wire Scrap No.1 Bare Bright Copper Wire shall consist of bare, uncoated, unalloyed copper wire, not smaller than 16 gauge . Similar to ISRI code BARLEY with the exception that no green wire is allowed. |

Copper/Sealed Motors shall consist of sealed electric compressor motors derived from common Refrigerators & freezers. |
Shredded Electric Motors (Shelmo) also known as Meatballs or Shredder Pickings consist of mixed copper-bearing material typically from ferrous shredding and may be comprised of motors without cases including motor armatures, motor stators, motor rotors, alternators, small transformers and copper coils. No free iron or sealed units. |
Scrap Copper/Aluminum Rads shall consist of unalloyed copper tubing surrounded by aluminum cooling fins derived from typical heat exchange radiators. Equivalent to ISRI code TALK. |
