Old Zinc Die Cast Scrap

Old Zinc Die Cast Scrap shall consist of miscellaneous coated and uncoated zinc die castings.
Equivalent to ISRI code SAVES.

New Zinc Die Cast Scrap

New Zinc Die Cast Scrap shall consist of new uncoated zinc die castings.
Equivalent to ISRI code SCABS.

New Plated Zinc Die Cast Scrap

New Plated Zinc Die Cast Scrap shall consist of clean new coated (typically nickel plated) zinc die casting free of other metals, attachments, and foreign materials.
Equivalent to ISRI code SCOPE.

Zinc Borings or Turnings

Zinc Borings or Turnings shall consist of zinc turnings, borings or grindings free of excessive oils.

Irony Zinc Scrap

Irony Zinc shall consist of zinc solids contaminated with iron, total zinc content shall be a minimum of 70% and total iron content shall be a maximum of 30%.
Must be free of excessive oils, plastics or other sweat furnace prohibitive.

Remelt Die Cast

Remelt Die Cast Ingot shall consist of remelted zinc ingots or pigs from a sweat furnace operation and shall be free of dross or slag materials.
Ingots shall uniform in shape and shall be a minimum 25 lbs. and a maximum 75 lbs. in weight.
ISRI code SCULL shall be included in this grade.

Remelt Die Cast Sows

Remelt Die Cast Sows shall consist of remelted zinc slab or sow blocks from a sweat furnace operation and shall be free of dross or slag materials.
Ingots shall uniform in shape and shall be a minimum 500 lbs. and a maximum 2,500 lbs. in weight.
ISRI code SCULL shall be included in this grade.

Galvanized Top Dross

Galvanized Top Dross shall consist of unsweated zinc skimmings from continuous galvanizing lines, shall contain a minimum of 90% zinc content.

Galvanized Bottom Dross

Galvanized Bottom Dross shall consist of unsweated zinc dross removed from the bottom of a continuos line galvanizing bath.
Minimum zinc content of 92%.
Equivalent to ISRI code SEAM.

Zinc Dross

Zinc Dross shall consist of slag, dross, skimmings or spillings from zinc die cast melting operations. Minimum zinc content of 85% and slabs chunks should not exceed 75 lbs.
ISRI code SHELF may be included in this grade.

Zinc Oxide & ZnO Residues

Zinc Oxide & ZnO Residues shall consist of assorted zinc or zinc oxide powders, dusts or residues, free from aluminum or other metallic content.
may include low grade or sweated zinc dross and may contain pieces of metallic zinc.

Zinc Flue Dust

Zinc Flue Dust shall consist of assorted zinc or zinc oxide content materials including powders, dusts or residues, derived from bag houses or EAF (Electric Arc Furnaces) dust collection systems
May include residues of iron, lead, cadmium, mercury provide that an analysis complete with pH specifications accompany materials.

Zinc Scrap

Other Zinc Scrap shall consist of any other scrap zinc materials that are not included in the other listed grades.
